The Finnish Institute in Estonia promotes cultural relations and educational co-operation between Finland and Estonia. We disseminate information about Finland and promote bilateral relations between the countries.

Our main task is to create new networks and connections, but we also organize public events. Our projects aim to contribute to a modern, innovative and creative society.

The kinship between the Finnish and Estonian languages is fostered through language programmes and literature-related activities. We also produce touring exhibitions.

The Institute operates across Estonia. The office in Tartu houses a small library and a reading room. The main office in Tallinn also includes an auditorium and a conference room available for rent.

The Institute was founded in 1991 and is maintained by the Foundation of the Finnish Institute in Estonia.
